Over 30 alumni from the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.,
areas gathered in Alexandria, Virginia, at the home of Deborah Oplinger
’73 and Russell McKinnon on Saturday, June 4. Guest speaker for
the evening was Andrew Semmel ’64, deputy assistant secretary for
nuclear proliferation. Andy spoke about “dealing with the spread
of nuclear weapons and combating weapons of mass destruction.” President
Rokke also gave a “state of the College” address to the group. Special
thanks to the Washington, D.C. Area Alumni Club for organizing this
event, and to the McKinnons for graciously welcoming alumni in their
home.
