Homecoming
Houndfest
Despite
the chilly air, we had a great turnout for this year’s
first annual Houndfest. A drenched football field forced a last-minute
move to the baseball field, but the rain disappeared in time for
the festivities.
Food
Service had a tent where we could step in and warm up while getting
lunch or a snack. There were grills
available on the field
so we didn’t need to worry about bringing our own. Everyone
gathered about the tables they had reserved, and radio coverage
of the game was broadcast over the field.
As
we walked around the field, there were some amazing buffets going
on! And the
Kidsfest was a huge success, with a moon bounce
and a craft and game tent. According to an online survey produced
by Alumni Board president Jan Gollins, most of the people who
attended enjoyed the new format and will be back next year
along with their
classmates who were unable to attend this year, so the crowds
will be even bigger.
If
you would like to participate in future online polls and surveys,
please make sure you register for the
Alumni Online
Community and enter your
email address
or update an old one.
Thanks
to all the alumni volunteers who helped out that day, and with
all the preparations. The event
could not happen
without you.
Next year’s Homecoming is October 25. |
