Oops
We
goofed in the last issue, as William B. Cummings ’53 pointed
out. “I was a student at MC from 1949 to 1953,” he
said, “and I swear that the M on my cheerleader sweater
stood for Moravian College.” He is right: we should have
said that the celebration of cheerleading at the 2003 Hall of
Fame dinner was for the inauguration of co-ed cheerleading, which
indeed inaugurated coeducation at Moravian, but in no way negated
the honorable history of cheerleading at Moravian when it was
a men’s college.
