On January 24, Moravian retired the basketball jersey of Kathy Beck DeKorte ’92. She led the Greyhounds to a national championship game in Johnston Hall during the 1991-92 season. She was a Middle Atlantic Conference All-Star as a sophomore, junior, and senior, and she was named an Eastern College Athletic Conference All-Star those same seasons.

Honored as the ECAC Rookie of the Year in 1988-89, Kathy was the MAC Southeast and ECAC South Player of the Year in 1991-92. She led Moravian to the MAC Championship in 1990-91 and 1991-92, the NCAA Tournament in 1989-90, 1990-91, and 1991-92, and the ECAC Tournament in 1988-89. She set College records with 1,936 points and 1,014 rebounds, and she earned the Greyhound Award as Moravian’s Outstanding Senior Female Athlete in 1992.

She was inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002. Led by Kathy, Moravian had a record of 102 wins and just 17 losses in four seasons. Kathy’s number 33 is displayed in the trophy case in the lobby of Johnston Hall and is hung in the north end of the hall.
