This exhibition of professional work by the studio faculty
of the Department of Art demonstrates a commitment to the liberal arts
tradition embodied in the curriculum of Moravian College. These instructors
emphasize and encourage individual initative through conceptual and
technical excellence. the Bachelor of Arts program in which they teach
is designed to meet three educational objectives:
developing a deeper understanding of art as a part of
the liberal
education, preparing for a career in the fine arts, graphic design,
or
art education, and building the foundation for advanced study.
The following faculty artists are represented: Dr. Rudy
S. Ackerman, Les Reker, Anne Dutlinger, Renzo Faggioli, Jeffrey Hurwitz,
Brian Chu, Ron De Long, Patrick Hadfield, and Corinne Lalin. Included
are paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, ceramics and graphic
design work. The show encompasses a variety of styles, media and techniques
from the representational and traditional to the abstract.
The Payne Gallery, located on the Church Street Campus
of Moravian College at the corner of Main and Church Streets in downtown
Bethlehem, is open to the public free of charge. The Gallery is open
daily except Monday 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For further information,
