The Moravian Theological Seminary is conducting a two
evening workshop, Moving Beyond TechnoStress - Developing a Healthy
Relationship with Technology. The Workshop will be held on Wednesday,
October 21 and October 28, 7:00-9:30 p.m., in the Bahnson Center, 60
W. Locust Street in Bethlehem.
Computers were designed to bring efficiency and convenience
into people’s lives. For many, technology has complicated their
lives and they experience frustration and a feeling of powerlessness.
This course will explore some of the sources of technostress, by assessing
how technology affects our bodies, minds, and spirits. The course will
explore ways to transform stress-producing beliefs into healthy ones,
time management skills, and exercises to restore peace and balance will
be presented. The course will include user-friendly yoga, deep breathing,
relaxation and meditation
The instructor for the workshops Mary Rosenberger, a Yoga
Master with 20 years of training in Iyengar Yoga and a Yoga Teacher’s
Certification in Kripalu Yoga. She has a B.A. in Psychology and Mathematics
from Cedar Crest College, where she completed an academic study of Yoga,
psychology and physiology. Mary is an adjunct faculty member at Moravian
College and Yoga Instructor and Consultant to Lehigh University. Mary
is the founder (originator) of Udana Yoga, a practical approach based
upon traditional yoga philosophy and tailored to our western lifestyle.
Prior to her full-time move to yoga in 1990, she was a software engineering
manager in Sydney, Australia.
The Lay Academy provides ecumenical adult education courses
and workshops, and is coordinated through the Office of Continuing Education
at Moravian Theological Seminary. Instructional resources are drawn
from area churches, colleges, and community groups.
