October 1998
Moravian College will celebrate Homecoming 1998 with activities
Friday and Saturday, October 30 and 31. The theme of this year's event
is "Our Spirit's great!," in keeping with the Halloween-theme
weekend.
The activities begin Friday with the eighth annual Rocco
Calvo Invitational Alumni Golf Tournament at Locust Valley Golf Course
in Coopersburg. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Rocco Calvo
Scholarship Fund, named in memory of longtime Greyhound football coach
and athletic director, Rocco Calvo.
Saturday's activities include the Homecoming Parade, which
will begin at
noon and follows a route along E. Locust Street, N. New
Street, E. Elizabeth Street to the Steel Field Athletic Complex. The
Moravian Greyhound football team takes on Fairleigh Dickenson University
at Madison, game time is 1:00 p.m. Announcement of the Homecoming Court
will take place at halftime of the game and the winners of spirit awards
will be announced.
The annual Homecoming Tailgate will be held Saturday,
weather permitting, on the football field behind Steel Field. Tailgate
registration is restricted to Moravian College alumni, parents, faculty,
