Acclaimed writer Sigrid Nunez to read at Moravian College

Acclaimed author, Sigrid Nunez will perform a reading of excerpts from her works at a special visiting writer presentation at Moravian College. The reading will be held on Tuesday, November 24, at 8:00 p.m. in the United Brethren’s Church Room, Haupert Union Building.

Praised as a "gifted storyteller" by the Chicago Tribune, Sigrid Nunez’s most recent book, MITZ: the Marmoset of Bloomsbury, delivers an enchanting fictional memoir about Leonard and Virginia Woolf’s pet marmoset. Sigrid Nunez is the author of the novels A Feather on the Breath of God and Naked Sleeper. She is the recipient of several literary prizes, including a Whiting Writer’s Award. A Feather on the Breath of God was shortlisted for the 1995 PEN/Hemingway Award for First Fiction. She teaches creative writing at Columbia University and is also on the faculty of the 1998 Bread Laf Writers’ Conference. She lives in New York City and is working on a fourth book.

The reading, sponsored by the Zinzendorf Society, is free and open to the public. A reception and book signing will follow the reading. It is sponsored by the Manuscript, Moravian College’s student literary magazine.
