Registration is in progress for spring semester
courses in the Division of Continuing Studies at Moravian College. Classes
begin January 11.
Special topics include "Topics in Religion and Literature:
John Updike’s Rabbit Angstrom Tetralogy," which will explore
the personal and institutional perspective on religion in the context
of the culture of late 20th century American life. Four of Updike’s
novels will be studied.
"Genetic Engineering" will introduce the development
of techniques for cloning genes, modifying them, and returning them
to living cells. Lectures will include such cutting edge topics as bio-informatics
and functional proteomics; labs will cover PCR, cloning, transformation,
ELISA, DNA sequencing, and transfection.
Generous arrays of courses in art, business (accounting,
management, economics), teacher certification (elementary and secondary),
psychology and sociology accompany the traditional offerings in English,
history, mathematics, music, philosophy, political science, and foreign
languages.
