News Release
April 1999
Moravian College will play host to "An Evening with
Rusted Root" on Friday, April 23, at 9:30 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
Rusted Root displays expanded instrumentation and is a colorful mixture
of Latin, African, Eastern, Soul, Rock, and traditional American music.
The student-run college programming board called IMPACT (Innovative
Multi-Cultural Programming Activities for Campus Togetherness) sponsors
Rusted Root’s appearance at Moravian College.
Rusted Root has established itself as a major touring
entity, headlining venues all across America and Canada. In addition,
the band has toured with some of the most legendary icons in rock music
history including the Grateful Dead, Page and Plant, Santana, the Allman
Brothers, Sting, and others. Rusted Root is also dedicated to multiple
environmental and social causes. The band regularly set up food drives
at their shows, which benefit local food banks. At the Moravian College
show, Rusted Root stickers will be given to ticket holders who donate
a can of non-perishable food. The food will be given to a local food-based
charity in the Lehigh-Valley.
All tickets are general admission and cost $20. Tickets
are available at the Moravian College Bookstore, which is located in
the Haupert Union Building (HUB) at Locust and Monocacy streets in Bethlehem.
Tickets are also available by telephone at 610-861-1499. If tickets
are remaining the day of the show, they will be available throughout
the day at the bookstore, and at Johnston Hall box office starting at
8:30 p.m. For general information, call the HUB desk at 610-861-1941.
