Moravian College is the recipient of a grant of $20,000
by the Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation to continue the program for
mature, second-career women students in the 1999-2000 year. This is
the eighteenth year that Moravian’s Division of Continuing Studies
has received this award.
The Newcombe Foundation of Princeton, NJ, has awarded
$654,000 to 26 colleges and universities in a geographical area which
includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York City, Delaware, Maryland,
and Washington, D.C.
Women applying for Newcombe scholarships must be at least
25 years old, be admitted to a degree program at Moravian College, have
completed at least half the credits in their degree or certification
program, and provide evidence of financial need. More than 20 students
each year have been assisted by these grants.
