October 1999
The
James J. Heller Concert Series will present, Trillium and Friends, two
ensembles comprised of Moravian College music students, on Sunday, October
24, 1999, at 7:00 p.m. in Kortz Hall, at Moravian Hall Square in Nazareth,
Pennsylvania.
Performers for the Trillium, Nicole Stevenson, flute;
Emily Rideout, violin; and Jennifer Smull, cello, will play selections
from Mozart, Beethoven and Devienne. The flute trio, Friends, Jessica
Kistler, Nicole Stevenson and Heather Strizalkowski will perform compositions
by Tartini and Stamitz. Trillium and Friends perform regularly at Bruegger’s
in downtown Bethlehem.
This concert series honors in memorium, James J. Heller,
dean emeritus of Moravian College. Dean Heller was vice president of
academic affairs and dean of Moravian College from 1961 until retiring
in 1988. He was ordained to the Moravian ministry and the Philadelphia
presbytery of the United Presbyterian church. During his tenure at Moravian,
the Music Department was near and dear to Dean Heller’s heart.
