The sweet sound of young voices will fill Peter Hall on
Moravian College’s Church Street Campus when the Bel Canto Children’s
Chorus performs on Sunday, November 21, 1999 at 4 p.m. The chorus of
more than 50 young people will offer works by Mendelssohn, Fauré,
Rutter, and Willcocks, among others.
The Bel Canto Children’s Chorus, founded in 1993,
is comprised of auditioned children from the five county area (Bucks,
Berks, Chester, Lehigh, & Montgomery). Performing all treble music,
the Chorus has developed a fine international reputation performing
music of the highest caliber. Under the direction of Mrs. Joy Hirokawa
the Chorus has performed for the International Children’s Choir
Festival in Canterbury, England, at Carnegie Hall, the Niagara International
Children’s Festival, the United Nations, Disney World, with the
Allentown Symphony, and in many other local, national, and international
festivals and events.
Come and enjoy the ethereal sound of the nine to sixteen
year olds as their voices blend in the fine acoustics of Peter Hall
on the Church Street Campus of Moravian College – Main and Church
Streets, Bethlehem. Tickets are $5 general admission; $3 children 12
