(Bethlehem, Pennyslvania) --Two Emmaus residents have
anonymously established a scholarship fund specifically to assist Continuing
and Graduate Studies students at Moravian College. The Windmill Foundation
Scholarship will assist non-traditional students.
The donors wish to assist non-traditional students who
share their sense of active commitment to the community and willingness
to encourage others to pursue educational excellence. "We want
no restrictions on age, gender, or stage at which the student enters
college," the donors emphasized. "New or transfer students
are welcome to apply." The scholarship may be used to cover tuition,
fees, and textbooks required by the course(s).
Applicants must be high school graduates or possess a
GED transcript confirming ability to take on college level instruction
and must show financial need based on the analysis of their FAFSA (Free
Application for Federal Student Aid).
"We are extremely grateful to the donors for this
assistance," notes Dr. Linda Heindel, dean of continuing and graduate
studies. "The gift came as a surprise – and what a wonderful
surprise."
Moravian College is a private, coeducational, selective
liberal arts college located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Tracing its
founding to 1742, it is recognized as America's sixth-oldest college.
