Pennsylvania) -- Soprano Tanya Lauser will present A Journey of Love
on Sunday, September 17 at Moravian College. The opera performer Lauser
will be accompanied by pianist Joanne Barsotti in Peter Hall, at 4:00
p.m., on Moravian’s Church Street Campus.
Ms. Lauser is a local graduate of Moravian College (1996)
and Parkland High School (1992). After receiving her Bachelor’s
degree from Moravian College, Tanya moved to Boston where she received
her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from The Boston Conservatory.
While in Boston, Tanya sang Pamina, her first operatic
role, with The Boston Conservatory Opera Department. She has performed
numerous opera scenes including : Donna Elvira, Don Giovanni; Agathe,
Der Freischutz; Celie, Signor Deluso; Columbina, Inquisitive Women;
Marianne, New Moon; Susanna, Le Nozze di Figaro; Elise, Louise; Mrs.
Winemiller, Summer and Smoke; Fiordiligi, Cosi fan tutte; Semiramide,
Semiramide.
Ms. Lauser currently is contracted with The Boston Lyric
Opera chorus and has also appeared with Opera Aperta and Longwood Opera.
In the winter of 2000, Tanya was a Semi-Finalist in Operafest! NH’s
Annual Vocal Competition. This past summer, Tanya was a participant
in The Auditions Project run by Susan Ormont. In the workshop she received
valuable feedback from opera professionals including Charles Riecker,
Isabel Wolf and Stephen Steiner. Currently, Ms. Lauser studies voice
with Monique Phinney and coached with Sondra Kelly and Michael Strauss.
In Pennsylvania, Tanya studied with Joanne Barsotti of Bethlehem.
