(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania)-- The Moravian College Personal
Financial Planning Certificate Program is sponsoring a free public discussion
forum on Monday, November 6, entitled "The Sweet Side of Life Insurance"
from a business owners prospective with Ross J. Born serving as the
discussion leader. Ross believes in the value of owning Life Insurance
and will discuss a variety of topics ranging from the benefits of owning
life insurance to selecting the appropriate product. Following his presentation,
Ross will conduct an open discussion enabling participants to ask questions
and share their experiences regarding life insurance. Following the
presentation, the Personal Financial Planning Certificate Program will
host a free dessert reception incorporating Just Born products into
a variety of tempting and sweet selections.
The Presentation on Monday, November 6, 2000 begins at
6:30pm in the Air Products Room of the Haupert Union Building (HUB)
on the Moravian Campus. Following the presentation, which is expected
to last ninety minutes, a dessert reception will follow in the HUB Lobby.
Anyone interested in learning more about the benefits of owning life
insurance is welcome to attend this free program.
Ross J. Born is Co-President of Just Born, Inc.; a family
owned confectionery Company located in Bethlehem, PA. Just Born was
founded in 1923 in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Bethlehem in 1932.
Just Born produces jelly bean type products including brand names Mike
& Ike®, Hot Tamales®, Zours and Teenee Beanee® gourmet
jelly beans as well as Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Halloween and
Easter Peeps® and Bunnies. Ross joined the family business in 1978
and shares the responsibility of managing the company with his cousin,
David Shaffer; they also share the title of Co-President.
Ross, an Allentown native, is a graduate of Tufts University
in 1975 and received a law degree from Hofstra School of Law in 1978.
Ross is active in a wide variety of community affairs.
The Moravian Personal Financial Planning Certificate Program
is the only CFP-Board Registered educational program in the Lehigh Valley.
Students completing a financial planning curriculum at a CFP Board-Registered
Program will be eligible to sit for the national CFP Certification Examination
administered by the CFP Board. The Moravian program is an in-depth curriculum
that integrates key components, which must be considered and assessed
by professionals who perform personal financial planning. These include
insurance, investments, tax planning and management, retirement planning,
employee benefits, and estate planning. Individuals who gain technical
knowledge and proficiency in these areas will be well equipped to engage
in the personal financial planning process.
