News Release
December 2000
(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) -- On Monday, December 11, Moravian
College Drum Major Elric Kline presented James Bertoni, Principal of
Freemansburg Elementary School with a $500.00 check from the Moravian
College Marching Band & Color Guard. Looking on were Freemansburg
instrumentalists Justin and Allison and Moravian College Director of
Instrumental Music James Barnes. The funds were the result of the Committee
Award won by the band for participation in the City of Bethlehem Halloween
Parade. The band unanimously voted to donate the funds to Freemansburg.
Last summer the school lost the use of its contents and building due
to a mold problem. Principal Bertoni indicated that the funds would
be used to help purchase instruments for the school’s music program.
