(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) – The Moravian MBA, the
graduate business program of Moravian College, recently announced a
partnership with SDA Bocconi to offer a course, Developing Transnational
Managers (MBA 695). SDA Bocconi, the business school of Bocconi University
in Milan, Italy, is recognized as one of the "top five" business
schools in the European Union and also ranks in the top 50 business
schools in the world.
The course is open to students from all Lehigh Valley
MBA programs It will be held from May 19 to May 30, 2001. The cost will
be $4,000, which includes tuition, airfare, hotel costs, and most meals.
The deadline for registration is March 1, 2001.
"Developing Transnational Managers", will explore
how culture, tradition, challenges of globalization, core competencies,
and politics impact business in Italy and the European Union. The course
employs a variety of pedagogies including lecture, discussion forums
with EU MBA students, company "connections" via company tours,
meetings with US expatriate managers and Italian firms that have operations
in the USA, as well as student presentations.
Participants will earn a full-course unit (3-graduate
credits) as an elective for their MBA while gaining a "hands-on"
business experience in Europe. They will study with faculty from one
of Europe’s best MBA programs and access the international networking
of culture and business. Participants will reside at the Hotel D’Este,
a four-star hotel, which is within a five minute walk to the University.
At the University, students will have access to all student services
including meeting spaces, computers, library, and gym. Bocconi University
is located a short Metro ride from the heart of Milan which features
museums, LaScala, shops, and restaurants.
