(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) -- The Tri Beta Society of Moravian
College will host an intriguing lecture by Dr. Douglas Learn, senior
scientist and study director for the Center for Photo Biology at Argus
Research Laboratories, Inc., on Thursday, March 20, at 4:00 p.m. in
Mellon Lecture Hall. Dr. Learn will discuss his work at Argus and careers
in science in the 21st century. Admission is free and open to the public.
Argus is part of Primedica Corporation, an international
contract research organization, that delivers non clinical development
services in partnership with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical
device companies in an effort to meet their product development needs.
Dr. Learn has also held the position of Scientist with Schering-Plough
Health Care Products, Inc. in Memphis. His work there included the interpretation
of clinical studies for consumer product development, product evaluation,
advanced product research and skin biology research. Dr. Learn also
served as a research assistant for the St. Jude Children’s Research
Hospital in Memphis.
Dr. Learn is a 1977 graduate of Moravian College. He earned
his M.S. and his Ph.D. degrees in Medical Microbiology from West Virginia
University.
