(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) -- The Moravian College Dancers
will present their 26th annual Spring Dance performance on Friday, March
30 and Saturday, March 3, at 8:00 p.m., in Foy Concert Hall.
Twenty-eight dancers, led by new artistic director, Pattie
Bostick, and assisted by ballet mistress, Mary Anne Hoffman, will astound
the audience with their amazing technique, incredible skill, and show-stopping
performances.
Keeping with tradition, the concert will also feature
dancers and choreographers from the Lehigh Valley. Back by popular demand
will be Nicole Hockenberry and Amy Smith’s T.A.P. Company; Coral
Nolan’s Dance Theatre; and Roger H. Von Bing’s Broadway
Rhythms Dance Company. New this year will be the appearance of the acclaimed
dancers in the Allentown Academy of the Arts at William Allen High School;
the dancers are under the direction of Renee Lorenzetti.
Dances will be performed in a variety of styles, including
tap, modern dance, ballet and jazz. Music by Vivaldi inspired ballet
mistress, Mary Anne Hoffman, to choreograph the beautiful ballet, Winter.
You’ll enjoy the upbeat tap number to Diana King’s Shy Guy,
choreographed by Aleda Rusnak, and be thrilled by the choreography of
Kourtney Parrella, to the song Voodoo, by Lords of Acid. The dramatic
jazz number by Marion Perry choreographed to Bon Jovi’s, It’s
My Life, will set toes to tapping, and Genevive LaVO’s modern
dance solo to Tori Amos’, Precious Things, is the epitomy of grace.
A jazz number choreographed by Julie Surber to the song Stronger, by
Britanny Spears is sheer fun. These pieces are all choreographed by
Moravian dancers. The grand finale jazz piece, choreographed by director
Pattie Bosnick to Ricky Martin’s popular song, She Bangs, promises
to leave the audience energized, exhilarated and asking for more.
