(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania)- Dana S. Dunn, associate professor
of psychology at Moravian College was named a Fellow in the American
Psychological Association (APA).Fellow status is recognized by professional
achievement conferred by the APA, an 89,000-member national organization
for psychology professionals. About five percent of its members are
fellows. The status is reached after a sustained period of work that
includes publishing, conferences, teaching, research, supervision of
student projects and other professional activities. Evidence of outstanding
contribution in the field of psychology is also evaluated.
Dunn was a presenter at several recent professional conferences,
including the seventh annual New England Conference for Teachers of
Psychology held October 19-21, at Western Connecticut State University
and the American Psychological Society in Toronto, this past June. While
in New England he and colleague Bernard Beins of Ithaca College spoke
about collaborative activities for students and statistics and research
methods courses, many of which emphasize writing.
Dunn is the chair of the psychology department and has
taught at Moravian since 1987. He earned his B.S. at Carnegie-Mellon
University and his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.
Moravian College is a private, coeducational, selective
liberal arts college located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Tracing its
founding to 1742, it is recognized as America's sixth-oldest college.
