News Release
December 2001
(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) - On Tuesday, December 18 at
2:30 p.m., the Moravian College Dining Services Division of The Wood
Company, will host the annual Christmas luncheon for Wood employees
in the College dining hall. This year, The Wood Company invited all
Bethlehem area firemen as honored guests to say "thank you"
to those who serve the city so well, and in memory of those who served
at the Twin Towers disaster.
Barbara Maza said that fellow dining service employees
donated $10 each as a contribution gift for the Fireman's Wish List.
The firemen's fund is used for needs generated by a crisis in the line
of duty, for flowers, equipment, or medical necessities. Fire Commission
Kevin G. Moyzan, reported that at least 50 people from area firehouses
will attend the luncheon.
The Wood employees have donated to the Children's Home
in Easton, the New Baptist Ministries, and other worthwhile causes in
the past, and report that one fireman responded "this is the first
time in 30 years that we have been recognized."
