(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) – Dr. Santo D. Marabella,
associate professor of management and director of The Moravian MBA at
Moravian College was awarded the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Award
for Distinguished Teaching.
The Lindback Awards for Distinguished Teaching were established
in 1961 with the help of the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation.
Christian Lindback was president and principal owner of Abbotts Dairies
Inc. and a Trustee of Bucknell University. The Foundation established
Lindback Awards for Distinguished Teaching at colleges and universities
throughout Abbotts Dairies Inc.'s service area in New Jersey, Pennsylvania,
Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia. Moravian first offered the award in
1964.
Celebrating his 10th year of teaching at Moravian, Marabella
began his career teaching courses in management, human resources, organizational
development, and business strategy, at the undergraduate and graduate
levels. In 1997, he was appointed director of the College’s MBA
program while retaining most of his teaching responsibilities.
During his tenure, Marabella received the Timothy M. Breidegam
Memorial Faculty Service Award and was selected by the Senior Class
as Faculty Speaker for Commencement Exercises, both in 2000, and he
was honored by the Moravian Chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa with the
Helping Hand Award for the Outstanding Organization Advisor in 2001.
A native of Reading, Pennsylvania. Marabella served as
the executive director of Leadership Berks from 1985 to 1997.
