Nursing Scholarships at Local High Schools

(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) Two Bethlehem area high school seniors and future professional nurses were award recipients from St. Luke's School of Nursing at St. Luke's Hospital and Moravian College. Receiving the special awards were spring graduates, Holly Buller, Freedom High School and Tamara Strobel, Liberty High School.

The award is given to individuals who have performed well academically and who will attend programs preparing registered professional nurses. Buller will attend St. Luke's School of Nursing at St. Luke's Hospital while Strobel will attend Duquesne University. The awards honored local school nurses Jane Schrack, BSN, RN, NP-Adult at Freedom High School and Kathy Halkins, BSN, RNC at Liberty High School. St. Luke's School of Nursing Dean Dr. Janet Sipple says, "local school nurses are heroes among the nursing community and our faculty wanted to honor their work through these local awards".
