(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) - Moravian College's Continuing
and Graduate Studies division will offer a two-credit course preparing
adults for returning to college study. "Tips, Tools, and Tactics"
will be offered Saturday mornings, 9 a.m. to noon, from October 26 to
December 11.
The course will be taught by Nancy McMichael and will
utilize group projects, collaborative learning, and writing assignments.
The course will provide experience in goal-setting, time management,
study skills, math anxiety alleviation, test-taking, coping with pressures
from home and work, and sharpening basic research and writing skills.
Its objective is to optimize the adult student's chances for success
in completing a bachelor's degree and to foster an appreciation for
the liberal arts approach to learning.
After receiving a B.S. in Design from the University of
Cincinnati, Nancy McMichael worked in the printing/publishing field
for 18 years. She then returned to college to obtain her MFA in fiction
writing from Goddard College. Since 1996 she has been teaching freshman
composition at DeSales University in both the day and evening programs.
