(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) - Moravian College’s Continuing
and Graduate Studies division will offer a course, “International
Human Resource Issue,” on Wednesday evenings, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.,
from October 23 through December 11.
The course will introduce participants to issues related
to managing people and human resource processes in geocentric companies.
Topics will include expatriation and impatriation, compensation and
benefit equity, codes of ethics within multinational firms, communication
channels such as intranets and internets, language needs relative to
production and communication, management training for supervisory personnel
within an international context, and personnel management issues related
to work settings, schedules, and vacation.
Participants will meet in seminar format using problem-centered
issues that require them to apply knowledge for resolution. HR professionals
or prospective HR employees who have an interest in working abroad or
in serving within a company that has a multi-national structure may
profit from an examination of these issues. The course carries two credits
and is part of the Moravian certificate program in Human Resources Administration.
