(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania)—Moravian College’s Business & Industry
Council will host a special program focusing on leadership featuring
Kostas Kalegeroupolus, executive vice-president of development for
Meyer Jabara Hotels, at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, September 10, in Prosser
Auditorium. Representatives from the Council, which includes PPL, Air
Products, WFMZ Television, The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce and other
leading businesses in the Lehigh Valley, will participate in the program
along with Moravian College students.
Kalogeropoulos will discuss philanthropy and his personal philosophy
of why business leaders should give back to the community. He will
explore the qualities for effective leadership and explain the formation
of Dream Come True, a local organization started by Kalogeropoulos
to grant wishes for chronic and terminally ill children. .
The college established the Business and Industry
Council in the fall of 2002 to strengthen Moravian’s relationship
with the business community, assisting career development in making
relationship that
benefit students, and raising money for the college. This event is
planned to provide an opportunity for Moravian College students, who
are selected from the Al Williams Leadership Series, to find a business
mentor within their chosen field of study and interest.
More than 20 prominent local business leaders will join Mr. Kalogeropoulos
and students for dinner at 6 p.m. in the United Brethren Church Room,
to be followed by the community presentation at 7 p.m. in Prosser Auditorium.
The business community is invited to the 7 p.m. address on effective
leadership and successful leaders. A dessert buffet will be served
immediately following the lecture. Tickets for the lecture and dessert
buffet are $25 and tax deductible. All ticket sales will benefit student
