Bethlehem, Pa— Dr. William (Bill) Kleintop
has recently been named associate dean for business and management
program in the division of Continuing and Graduate Studies at Moravian
College.
“Bill brings particular expertise as a teacher (with special
skills in technology-enhanced learning) and in academic program development,” said
Dr. Florence C. Kimball, dean, Continuing and Graduate Studies. “These
strengths, combined with his practical experience in the corporate
community, will enable him to develop and expand the business and management
programs that are offered through the division of Continuing and Graduate
Studies.”
Kleintop is a Muhlenberg graduate who went on to earn an M.P.A. from
Penn State (local government administration) and a Ph.D. in Business
Administration from Temple University (human resource management).
Kleintop previously taught in the graduate programs of Seton Hall
and Philadelphia University as well as the undergraduate business program
at Philadelphia University. He specialized in the areas of organizational
behavior and technology management.
He was the recipient of the IBM-Seton Hall Learning Space Scholar
Award for pioneering work incorporating technology into the curriculum
and an Outstanding Academic Service award while at Seton Hall University.
Prior to his academic career, Kleintop was the assistant to the director
of human services in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He was responsible
for operational analysis, computer systems design and implementation,
strategic planning and program evaluation.
As a trainer for the LaSalle Nonprofit Center at LaSalle University,
Kleintop conducted various workshops for nonprofit organizations on
the utilization of technology and the Internet to further organizational
missions. He has served as a consultant with a variety of nonprofit
organizations, including those in adult services, services to older
Americans, healthcare, legal services and economic development. His
experiences include service as president of two nonprofit corporations,
one in childcare and the other a historical society.
Kleintop is a member of the Academy of Management,
including the Management Education & Development and the Public
and Nonprofit Divisions, and the American Society for Training and
Development. He is also an elected member of Pi Alpha Alpha, the
National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration.
