Bethlehem, Pa.—Dr. Michele August-Brady, associate professor,
St. Luke’s School of Nursing at Moravian College, has been selected
as the recipient of the 2004 Pennsylvania State Nurses Association
(PSNA) annual award in nursing education. The award recognizes a member
of PSNA each year who contributes to the advancement of nursing education.
August-Brady was nominated for this award by Paige Thompson, associate
professor and program coordinator of the nursing program at Moravian
College. The criteria for selection is that the nominee is a current
and active member of PSNA; acts as a role model to inspire peers and/or
others to improve the quality of education practice; has accomplished
a major contribution to the improvement of the teaching/learning process
within nursing; has exhibited community involvement, participation
in nursing organizations, and received recognition from peers for ability
to work with others.
The award honoring Dr. August-Brady will be held
at the PSNA’s
annual convention and award celebration on October 22, in Hershey,
Pennsylvania.
