Bethlehem, Pa.—Moravian College is one of
the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education,
according to The Princeton Review, the New York-based company
known for its test-prep and education services. The college is
one of 357 schools featured in the just-published 2005 edition
of The Princeton Review annual college guide, The Best 357 Colleges.
“All of the schools in the guide are academically
outstanding,” says Princeton Review's Robert Franek, the
book's lead author. “We report ranking lists in many categories
to help college applicants and their parents decide which of
these very different, but all great colleges is best for them.
We select schools for the guide based on our knowledge of and
visits to them, on data we review about them, and on the opinions
of independent college counselors, students and parents we talk
to and survey. We also work to have a wide representation of
colleges in the guide, by region, size, selectivity and character.
It includes public and private schools, traditional and non-traditional
colleges, historically black colleges and universities, and science
and technology-focused institutions.”
Considered a leading publication for selecting
colleges, The Princeton Review's "Best Colleges" includes
a two-page overview on each college that examines the institution's
culture, academics, social life, composition of the student body,
and admissions information. Sidebars of each page supply information
in a tabular form, rating campus life, academics, and difficulty
of admission along with supplying a freshman profile and financial
facts.
Two years ago, Moravian was named by the Princeton
Review to its guide of the best 346 colleges and last year the
College was named to its guide of the best 351 colleges. “While
it is important that prospective students and their parents learn
first-hand about the quality of our programs, faculty, and facilities,
we recognize that this college guide is widely read. And we are
certainly pleased to be recognized as one of the best colleges
in the country again this year.” said Bernie Story, vice-president
for enrollment at Moravian College.
Moravian College is one of four Lehigh Valley institutions
included in the best colleges guide—others include Lehigh
University, Lafayette College, and Muhlenberg College.
