Bethlehem, Pa., Wednesday, July 13, 2005— Moravian College student, Bridget O’Rourke’07
(Lansdowne, Pa.), was recently awarded a scholarship from Studio Art Centers International
(SACI) to study art in Florence, Italy, during the 2005 fall semester. O’Rourke
was chosen during the highly competitive selection process among a pool of student applicants
recognized Bridget for outstanding artistic and academic achievements.
SACI scholarship recipients are part of a 200 member student body studying arts and
humanities in the heart of Florence, Italy. Over $65,000 of scholarships were awarded
to students for the 2005 fall semester.
“This scholarship award recognizes not only Bridget O’Rourke’s achievements,
but also the high caliber instruction offered by the art program at Moravian College,” said
Jim Miller, senior executive of SACI.
As an independent school accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and
Design, SACI offers a comprehensive program in disciplines including painting, drawing,
printmaking, design, architecture, sculpture, ceramics, photography, filmmaking, conservation,
