Bethlehem, Pa., June 8, 2006— Moravian recently welcomed three new members to
the development staff in the College’s Office of Institutional Advancement.
Suzanne M. Schamberger was named director of foundation relations. Schamberger is responsible
for the planning and implementing of strategies and activities that ensure regular and
increased support from private and community foundations and independent, state, and
federal funding agencies to support the goals and priorities of Moravian College and
Moravian Theological Seminary.
Previously, Schamberger served as executive director of the Farmington
Valley Arts Center, located in Avon, Connecticut. The Arts Center is a mid-sized nonprofit
organization that consists of a School of Art, Outreach Education programs, onsite
artist’s studios,
and two galleries. Schamberger received a B.F.A., Studio Art/Ceramics, from Marywood
University in Scranton, and an M.B.A., Arts Administration, from Binghamton University
in Binghamton, New York.
Geoffrey Deen ’04 was named associate director of leadership giving. Deen’s
primary duties and responsibilities include planning, guiding, participating and soliciting
prospective donors capable of making leadership gifts to Moravian College.
Before joining Moravian, Deen was the manager of strategic services for PharmaStrat,
Incorporated, a market research and strategic consulting firm focused on Managed Care
marketing issues, located in Flemington, New Jersey. Geoff joined PharmaStrat in 2003
as an analyst for strategic services while a student at Moravian. Geoff is a 2004 graduate
of the College with a B.A. in Business Information Systems.
Jennifer Goff was named Moravian fund director. She is responsible
for annual giving to Moravian which includes so many great opportunities and programs,
from the President’s
Circle and Parents Fund to the Music Alliance, Friends of the Library and unrestricted
giving. Goff oversees Moravian’s Senior Class Gift, direct mail and phone-a-thon
programs run by Mark Bentz, assistant director of annual giving, and will provide guidance
to Blue & Grey fundraising efforts.
Previously Goff was the class giving director for the Penn Fund at
the University of Pennsylvania, working primarily with the 45th and 50th year reunions. Prior to
her work at Penn, she was director of the phonathon and assistant director of annual
giving at Muhlenberg College. She was promoted after one year to the director of
the Parents Fund and associate director of the Muhlenberg Fund.
