Bethlehem, Pa., August 15, 2006—Dr. Santo D. Marabella, associate professor and
chair of the Economics & Business Department, is the executive producer of a short
film that was shot recently in the Lehigh Valley, that includes the Moravian College campus.
The film, entitled “Then Came You” was written by John E. Fitzpatrick and
was produced in collaboration with Marabella through their production company SanJohn
Productions. The twenty-minute "short" was filmed in March at various locations including
downtown Easton and utilized actors and production staff on a volunteer basis.
“Then Came
You” tells the story of a man who after a tragic loss is unable to recommit to
life and love until a chance accident leads him to reconsider his options. The cast
consists of four characters. One character is portrayed by Michael Constantine,
a talented actor and the son of immigrant parents from Greece, for many years was
known for his portrayal of principal Seymour Kaufman in the TV series Room 222. He also
played Santa in the 1969 film Prancer, and made an unexpected comeback as the Windex-toting
father in the hit movie, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," a romantic comedy film that
grossed the most money in box office history. Constantine later reprised the
role in the television series "My Big Fat Greek Life."
Marabella and Fitzpatrick
plan to enter the film at festival venues and to “shop” it
to Hollywood producers and studios as a pilot presentation for television. The film is
scheduled to premiere on September 24th in Reading, Pa. A screening will be held
at Moravian College during the month of September.
