Parking Selection Application Reminder (2020-2021)

Please remind your student to check their email in the upcoming months (Late April 2020) for information concerning application for a 2020-2021 parking permit. The email will include the following information with dates and lots (TBD):

A seniority based parking selection (determined by date and time received and class standing) will be used to determine who receives parking permits for the lot designations listed below. Resident students who choose to enter the parking selection process are required to submit in priority order (TBD) of these lot designations.

As you prioritize your options, please remember that resident students choosing to bring a car to campus are required to: 1) appropriately display his/her parking permit; 2) respect posted lot designations; and 3) follow all parking rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Students who secure a parking permit are only authorized to park in the lot in which they have a corresponding parking permit. A Resident Guaranteed Permit does not allow parking on any roadway or parking lots within ½ mile of campus. The city street boundaries are as follows: North to Dewberry Ave; East to Linden Street; West to Eighth Ave; and South to Third Street. The defined area includes the streets between the Main Campus and the Hurd Campus.

Students who anticipate bringing a vehicle on campus for just the Spring or just the Fall semester must submit an application for parking selection at this time. This includes all students who will be participating in off-campus field experiences through the college (e.g. nursing, student teaching, work experiences, ROTC, etc.). It also includes students studying abroad for part of the academic year. If you are awarded a permit through the selection process; all permits must be picked up no later than (TBD) failure to do so will result in the permit being reissued. Parking permits are valid from 8/1/2020 to 7/31/2021.

Off-Campus Residents

Students who choose to live off campus within ½ mile radius may not enter the parking selection process if the residence is located in a Resident Permit Zone. However, in accordance with the Bethlehem Parking Authority, each structure is permitted a maximum of two student permits with your student ID, a copy of your signed lease, proof of registration, and a copy of your insurance card. For more information, please contact the Bethlehem Parking Authority at 610-865-7123. For those students approved to live off campus within the ½ mile radius and the residence is not located in a Resident Permit Zone, the student is allowed to park their vehicle not more than one block from the address. For those off campus resident students that reside beyond the ½ mile radius, they are authorized to purchase a commuter pass by producing proof of a signed lease to Campus Police. A commuter pass does not authorize the permit holder to park their vehicle in a campus lot or surrounding street overnight.
