The
mission of the Department of Physical Education, Athletics, and Recreation is to support the
aims of the institution by providing physical and sports programs, facilities, and equipment
for the various levels of interest and skill in the College community. Moravian supports a
broad range of physical activities intended for participation by the entire community, from
the highly skilled, experienced athlete to the interested novice or casual spectator. The program
offers opportunities in intercollegiate, intramural, and recreational competition. Schedules
and information are available in Johnston Hall.
Intercollegiate athletics programs are offered
for those students interested in organized competition at the varsity level. Moravian is a
Division III (non-scholarship) member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the

competition is offered in football, soccer, cross country, basketball, baseball, lacrosse,
track and field, tennis, and golf for men; and basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, tennis,

halls, and student groups. Intramural sports include volleyball, soccer, touch football, indoor
soccer, bowling, floor hockey, softball, beach volleyball, table tennis, and basketball. Tournaments
are held for tennis, golf, and horseshoes.
