The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (also known as PHEAA), has reported the following:

SCAM ALERT

Someone falsely posing as a PHEAA employee has been gathering personal info from students, claiming the student has “won” a grant. Any calls of this nature should be reported to PHEAA.

Students should be wary of these suspicious inquiries, especially those who are recipients of the Pennsylvania State Grant. If contacted, please do not reveal any personally identifiable information to the caller at this time. Any calls of this nature should be directly reported to PHEAA’s student assistance line at 1-800-692-7392.
