            BETHLEHEM, PA --- The top seeded Moravian College baseball team won its first-ever Landmark Conference Championship and first conference title since 1990 with a 19-2 victory over fourth seed Juniata College in the title game of the 2010 Landmark Conference Championship at Gillespie Field Saturday.
            The Greyhounds earn an automatic berth to the 2010 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament, the first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in school history, and Moravian will find out where they are headed on Monday, May 17th.  The Greyhounds have won six straight and a school record 26 games this season.
            Moravian jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.  Junior outfielder Jason Huber led off the game with a solo home run, his second homer of the season.  Junior designated hitter Jacob Millen added an RBI single.
            Juniata cut the Moravian lead to 2-1 with a run in the top of the third on an RBI single from senior shortstop Andrew Kriss.
            The Greyhounds added five runs in the bottom of the third to build a 7-1 lead.  Millen and junior second baseman Jake Schweitzer each had RBI singles before a two-run homer from sophomore catcher Austin Rock.  Later in the inning, senior outfielder Brad Bodine scored on an error.
            The Eagles scored their other run in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI single from sophomore third baseman Thomas Eck.
            Moravian added two runs in the bottom half of the fourth on RBI singles from Millen and Schweitzer for a 9-2 lead.
            The Greyhounds blew the game open with seven runs in the fifth for a 16-2 lead.  Junior third baseman Jon Baltz had an RBI single while sophomore shortstop Dave Zubia added an RBI triple.  Millen would hit his fourth RBI single of the game in the inning while Rock would add a two-RBI single.  Bodine also had a two-RBI double in the inning.
            Moravian added a run in the sixth on an RBI double from sophomore first baseman Kevin O’Keefe, and the Greyhounds finished off the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI double by O’Keefe and an error.
            The Greyhounds had a 24-7 advantage in hits with Millen going four-for-four with four RBIs.  Rock was three-for-five with four RBIS while O’Keefe was three-for-four.  Baltz went three-for-five in the game while Zubia three-for-six.  Bodine was two-for-four in the game to move within three hits of 100 for his career while Schweitzer was two-for-five and Huber went two-for-six.
            Kriss was two-for-four for Juniata while sophomore designated hitter was two-for-three.
            Senior Ryan Cummings improved to 3-2 on the year for Moravian, allowing two runs on six hits, two walks and three strikeouts in seven innings of action.  Senior Brandon Palmisano allowed a hit in one inning for the Greyhounds while senior Andrew DeLio struck out two of three batters in the final inning.
            Junior Nathan Burkey took the loss for Juniata, giving up seven runs, six earned, on ten hits and two walks in 2 2/3 innings.
