SHERTZER & RUTHERFORD NAMED MORAVIAN ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Senior Damon Rutherford (Reading/Exeter HS) from the men’s cross country team and junior Emily Shertzer (Hummelstown/Lower Dauphin HS) of the women’s cross country team have been named the Moravian College Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances last week.

Rutherford was the Greyhounds top finisher at the Kutztown University Maroon & Gold Invitational with an 11^th place finish in 28:23. Moravian placed third of nine schools at the invitational.

Shertzer won her first race of the season and led the cross country team to its first team championship of the year at the Maroon & Gold Invitational. Shertzer won the 6,000-meter race in a time of 23:17. Moravian defeated several NCAA Division II schools in the meet.
