GREYHOUNDS WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY 8TH IN NATION

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Even though the Moravian College women’s cross country team finished second to the College of New Jersey at the New York University Invitational last Saturday, the Greyhounds moved up one spot to eighth in the nation in this week’s NCAA Division III national poll.

The Greyhounds were ninth last week while the College of New Jersey moved from 14th to 12th win the win at NYU.

Junior Emily Shertzer (Hummelstown/Lower Dauphin HS) has captured first place in three of four meets this season and she was second last week. Shertzer has been followed by junior Kim Jaick (Coopersburg/Southern Lehigh HS), junior Heidi Wolfsberger (Moosic/Riverside HS), junior Erin Boyle (Philadelphia/Nazareth Academy) and senior Hannah Wood (Palm/Upper Perkiomen HS). All five of Moravian’s top runners have finished in the top 16 of each race this fall.

The Greyhounds will not compete this weekend. Their next meet is Saturday, October 7th at Dickinson College, also the site of the 2000 NCAA Mideast Regional in November.
