McLEAN & GREB NAMED ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
BETHLEHEM, PA --- Sophomore forwards Kelly McLean (Allentown/Salisbury HS) of the
women's basketball team and Ken Greb (Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley HS) from the
men's basketball squad have been named the Moravian College Student-Athletes of the Week
for their performances last week.
McLean led Moravian to a pair of wins to open 2001 by averaging 20.5 points, 10.0 rebounds
and 3.0 blocked shots per game. McLean scored a team high 21 points and added seven
rebounds, three blocked shots and four steals in Moravian's 72-64 win at Dickinson College
to start the new year. She had a team leading 20 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks
in a 64-52 home win over Ursinus College. McLean was 16 of 26 from the floor during
the week and 9 of 11 from the free throw line. Of her 20 rebounds, 11 came at the
offensive end. The Greyhounds are 4-6 on the season and will return to action on
Tuesday, January 9th at Albright College in Commonwealth Conference action.
Greb paced the men's team to a second place finish in the 23rd Annual Greyhound
Nike Classic and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Greb had 12 points and six
rebounds in the Greyhounds 78-47 victory over Centenary (NJ) College. He added ten
points and a career high 13 rebounds in a 75-69 loss to rival Muhlenberg College in the
championship game. Moravian is currently 2-8 on the season and will return to action
on Tuesday, January 9th at Albright College in Commonwealth Conference action.
