MORAVIAN ADDS 9 NEW MEMBERS TO ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT
BETHLEHEM, PA --- The Moravian College Athletics Department has announced the appointment
of eight new employees effective immediately.
Fred Harris - Assistant Softball Coach.
Harris is a 1994 graduate of Moravian College and played baseball for four seasons while
attending the school. Harris is currently a teacher in the Bethlehem Area School
District and a former head baseball coach at Freedom High School in Bethlehem. He
also was an assistant softball coach for one year at Nazareth High School.
Sharon Lamond - Assistant Women's Tennis Coach.
Lamond will coach for the Greyhounds while serving as assistant tennis professional at
the Northwood Racquet and Fitness Club in Easton, PA. Lamond, who is a member of
the US Professional Tennis Registry and the United States Tennis Association, earned
her undergraduate degree in physical education from San Jose State University in 1986
and a Master's Degree with a concentration in sports management from Baylor University
in 1998.
William Leonardi - Assistant Men's Basketball Coach.
Leonardi joins the Moravian coaching staff after spending the last 14 years as head basketball
coach and assistant varsity baseball coach at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School. He
led Scotch Plains Fanwood to 140 wins during his tenure with eight state playoff appearances
and the sectional semifinals twice. Leonardi earned a teaching degree from the
University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1963.
Brad Lower - Assistant Football Coach (tight ends).
Lower is a 1998 graduate of Moravian and is in his first year of coaching on the collegiate
level. Lower was a two-time MAC Commonwealth All-Star while at Moravian and a two-time
MAC Freedom All-Star while starting his career at Delaware Valley College. He has
earned teaching certificate from East Stroudsburg University. Lower, who is currently
teaching in the Catasauqua School District, has been an assistant high school football
coach at three Lehigh Valley High Schools over the last four years.
Kristen Orgera - Assistant Field Hockey Coach.
Orgera, a 1999 graduate of Randolph Macon Women's College, joins the Greyhound staff as
a coach after serving a three-month internship during the summer for the Moravian Athletics
Department. Orgera is completing a Master's Degree in sports management at East
Stroudsburg University. She is also currently serving as the project facilitator
for the athletic facilities master plan the Moravian has begun working on.
Mike Roberts - Minority Recruiting Intern, Assistant Football Coach (defensive
backs) and Assistant Track & Field Coach.
Roberts, a 1999 graduate of Bloomsburg University, was an All-Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference Player at Bloomsburg. Roberts, who started his football career at Rutgers
University, was a Sporting News Freshman All-American in 1993. He is currently
working on a Master's Degree in sports management from East Stroudsburg University. Roberts,
whose uncle Mel Roberts was a coach for the Richmond Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies,
played two seasons in the Arena Football League with the Albany Firebirds.
Adam Stauffer - Blue & Grey Club Marketing Intern.
Stauffer joins the Moravian staff to help with fundraising in the Blue & Grey Club. Stauffer
has a pair of degrees, including a Master's Degree in sports management, from East Stroudsburg
University where he played football for four years and was a captain as a senior. Stauffer
has already completed internships with the Patriot League offices in the Lehigh Valley
and the University of Delaware Athletic Department.
Joe Wolf - Assistant Football Coach (offensive line).
Wolf, a former National Football League player, joins the football staff this season. Wolf
graduated from Boston College in 1989 after playing four years for the Eagles. He
was four-year letterwinner, captain as a senior and All-ECAC in 1988. Wolf spent
seven years as an offensive lineman with the Arizona Cardinals of the NFL from 1989 until
1997.
Autumn Zander - Assistant Women's Tennis Coach.
Zander is a 2001 graduate of Moravian and spent four years on the women's tennis team. Zander
helped the Greyhounds to three MAC titles in the last four years and a record of 50-5. She
had a career singles record of 25-9 and a career doubles mark of 19-13. Zander will
work with the Greyhounds newly formed junior varsity program.
