MORAVIAN WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY REMAINS 3RD IN NATION
BETHLEHEM, PA --- The Moravian College women's cross country team remained the #3 in the
nation in the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Poll released Wednesday.
The Greyhounds, who spent six weeks as the number one team in the nation prior to dropping
to third last week, have won six of seven meets this season but did not compete last week
in preparation for this weekend's NCAA Division III Mideast Regional at Lehigh University.
Moravian has placed three of its top five runners in the top 25 of each race this season
and all five have been in the top 50 of each event. The four top finishers have all
been seniors led by Heidi Wolfsberger (Moosic, PA/Riverside HS), who won the Kutztown
Invitational to open the season, the NYU Invitational, the DeSales Invitational and her
third straight MAC Individual title. Kim Jaick (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh
HS) won the Lehigh Valley Championship and has been second for the Greyhounds in four
of the other seven races. The other seniors are Emily Shertzer (Hummelstown, PA/Lower
Dauphin HS) and Erin Boyle (Philadelphia, PA/ Nazareth Academy HS), who was
second for the squad at the DeSales Invitational. Moravian's other top finisher have
been freshmen Chelsea Mullins (Jim Thorpe, PA/Jim Thorpe HS) and Alison Stoyko
(Reading, PA/Governor Mifflin HS).
The Greyhounds will try to defend their NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championship
at Lehigh University on November 10th.
