PANIKIEWSKY NAMED MAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ANNVILLE, PA --- Sophomore safety John Panikiewsky (Carteret, NJ/Carteret HS) has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance last week.

Moravian earned a 27-0 victory over FDU-Madison in Middle Atlantic Conference game last Saturday.  The Greyhounds finished the season with a 5-5 overall record and a 4-5 mark in the MAC.  The game was a make-up game that was originally scheduled for September 15th.

Panikiewsky had nine tackles with seven solo stops to lead the Moravian defense that allowed just 174 yards on 40 plays to the Devils and only 30 yards through the air.  Panikiewsky added three tackles for loss with half a sack and one pass break-up in the game.
