FOUR GREYHOUNDS NAMED MORAVIAN STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
BETHLEHEM, PA --- Seniors Kim Jaick (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh HS), Erin
Boyle (Philadelphia, PA/Nazareth Academy HS) and Steph Horne (Sinking Spring,
PA/Wilson West Lawn HS) of the women's indoor track & field team and sophomore Joe
Moore (Andover, NJ/Newton HS) from the men's indoor track & field squad have
been named the Moravian College Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances last
week.
Jaick had Moravian's top individual finish at the 2002 Easter College Athletic
Conference Championships hosted by Tufts University. Jaick finished second
in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:18.10. The Greyhounds placed 20th of the 51
teams that scored points in the ECAC meet.
Boyle placed fifth in the 1,500 meters in a time of 4:41.87, a NCAA Division III
provisional qualifying time. She was also a member of Moravian's eighth place distance
medley relay team, which posted a NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 12:30.25.
Horne placed sixth in the 55-meter hurdles at the ECAC Championships with a time
of 8.69 seconds, a NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time. Horne was
second in her preliminary heat with a time of 8.54 seconds, just on-one hundredth of a
second off her own school record. Horne also competed in the 200 meters and
had a time of 27.74 to place 31st.
Moore scored the Moravian men's team's only point of the ECAC Championships with
an eighth place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.64 meters (21 feet, 9 ½ inches). The
Moravian men tied for 45th of 46 teams that scored points at the ECAC Championships.
