GREYHOUND SOFTBALL RANKED IN NCAA STATS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College softball team, ranked 20th in the nation and 29-6 this season, is ranked in five categories and two individual players are each ranked in the third NCAA Division III statistical report of the season released Wednesday.

The rankings, which include games completed by April 21st, have the Greyhounds ranked 12th in earned-run average at 1.06; 12th in win-loss percentage at .829, 17th in batting average at .352, 21st in the nation in fielding percentage at .958 and 25th in scoring, averaging 6.69 runs per game.

Individually, senior pitcher Rachel Mowrey (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley HS) is tied for 20th in wins with 13 and she is 38th in earned run average with an ERA of 1.12.  Sophomore third baseman Janelle Brey (Allentown, PA/Dieruff HS) is ninth in the nation in RBIs per game at 1.44 (49 RBIs in 34 games) and she is tied for tenth in homeruns per game at 0.29 (ten homers in 34 contests) and tied for 30th in doubles with 0.41 per contest (14 in 34 games).

The Greyhounds return to action on Saturday April 27th in a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
