FOUR GREYHOUNDS NAMED TO MAC GOLF ALL-STAR TEAMS
ANNVILLE, PA --- The Moravian College golf team has placed four golfers on the 2002 Middle
Atlantic Conference All-Star teams with junior Jason Pozniak (Tunkhannock, PA/Tunkhannock
HS) and sophomore Jamison Licausi (Tobyhanna, PA/Pocono Mountain HS) earning
First Team honors while senior Sean Carney (Lake Ariel, PA/ Wallenpaupack HS) and
sophomore Brian Kurylo (Sparta, NJ/Sparta HS) were named to the Second Team.
All four golfers placed in the top 20 at the 2002 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships
contested at the Shawnee Country Club on April 27th and the quartet helped the Greyhounds
finish in third place as a team, one stroke out of second place. The 2002 championship
was limited to 27 holes due to rain and an unplayable course.
The all-star teams are based on how the players finished in the 54-hole tournament. The
top ten individuals earn first team accolades while the second ten are on the second team.
Pozniak and Licausi were each tied for sixth with 27-hole totals of 118
and Pozniak was seventh overall when individual nine-hole scores were compared and Licausi was
eighth overall.
Carney and Kurylo each tied for 17th with scores of 122 with Carney coming
in 19th and Kurylo placing 20th in the individual nine-hole scores. |
