Thursday, June 27, 2002 MORAVIAN GROUP RAISES $2,000 FOR NATIONAL SPORTS CENTER FOR DISABLED BETHLEHEM, PA --- The Moravian College Student-Athlete Mentoring (SAM) organization raised $2,000 during April that is being donated to the National Sports Center for the Disabled to sponsor a disabled athlete. The SAM organization, made up of members of all 16 of Moravian's athletic teams, has completed its second year on campus and has organized several speakers and presentations for the College's student-athletes and well as sponsoring picnics and other activities. The majority of the money being donated was raised on April 18th when SAM hosted a wheelchair basketball event versus the FreeWheelers. The group also raised money through raffle prizes. |
