McLEAN & REYNOLDS NAMED TO LEHIGH VALLEY SMALL COLLEGE
BASKETBALL SCHOLAR-ATHLETE TEAM OF THE MONTH
BETHLEHEM, PA --- Junior forward Kelly McLean (Allentown, PA/Salisbury HS) and
junior guard Willie Reynolds (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty HS) of the Moravian College
basketball teams have been named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Scholar-Athlete
Team of the Month announced Tuesday at the second Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball
Media Organization luncheon of the season hosted at Starters Pub in Bethlehem.
Each January, the LVSCBMO selected the top Scholar-Athletes from each of the area's seven
NCAA Division II and III Colleges. All of the honorees are outstanding students with
grade-point averages over 3.0 and major contributors to their individual teams.
McLean is joined by Camille Whyte of Cedar Crest College, Lauren Snyder from Delaware
Valley College, Amy Yencho from DeSales University, Vanessa Kraft from East Stroudsburg
University of Pennsylvania, Becky Savage from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and Lindsay
St. Lawrence of Muhlenberg College.
Joining Reynolds on the men's team were Wade Lewis from Delaware Valley College,
Jeff Clifford of DeSales University, John Krimmel from East Stroudsburg University, Walt
Pinkas of Kutztown University and Michael Barletta from Muhlenberg College.
McLean, a psychology major with a minor in sociology, has helped the Moravian women's
team post a 9-5 record to start the season and a 3-1 slate in the Commonwealth Conference. McLean is
Moravian's second leading scorer at 10.7 points per game and she leads the Greyhounds with
7.3 rebounds per contest and 26 steals. McLean has added 20 assists and 14
blocks.
Reynolds, a political science major with minors in music and history, has helped
the men's squad equal its win total from 2000-01 with a 9-5 record. Moravian is 2-2
in the Commonwealth Conference. Reynolds is netting 5.0 points per game as
a key reserve and he has added 20 rebounds and 16 assists. Reynolds leads
Moravian in free throw percentage at 100 percent (21 of 21) as the Greyhounds are in the
top five nationally at 78.7 percent as a team.
