FOUR GREYHOUNDS NAMED STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Junior Kelly McLean (Allentown, PA/Salisbury HS) of the women's basketball team, senior Heidi Wolfsberger (Moosic, PA/Riverside HS) from the women's indoor track & field squad, senior Kevin Bush (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg HS) of the men's indoor track & field team and freshman Brandon Zaleski (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown HS) from the men's basketball squad have been named the Moravian College Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances last week.

McLean, a forward, led Moravian to a 2-0 week last week and helped the Greyhounds clinch their first postseason berth since the 1997-98 season.  For the week, McLean averaged 13.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game while shooting just under 50 percent from the floor (10 of 21) and 75 percent at the free throw line (6 of 8).  McLean had 16 points, six rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals in Moravian's 76-57 victory over Elizabethtown College to clinch a playoff berth and she added ten points and a career high 17 rebounds in a 65-56 victory over Widener University.  The Greyhounds are 15-8 overall and 9-3 in the Commonwealth Conference this season.

Wolfsberger led Moravian with a pair of first place finishes in at the Robert J. Kane Invitational hosted by Cornell University last weekend.  Wolfsberger won the mile with a time of 5:10.71, an Eastern College Athletic Conference qualifying time, and she won the 1,000 meters with an ECAC qualifying standard of 3:02.08.

Bush won the 400 meters at the Robert J. Kane Invitational hosted by Cornell University last Saturday.  Bush posted a NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time and an Eastern College Athletic Conference qualifying time of 49.98 seconds to win the race.  In other sprint events, Bush placed first in his heat with a time of 7.24 seconds in the 60-meter dash and he was part of Moravian's 4x400-meter squad that had its best time of the season with a 3:31.51, good enough for second place in its heat.

Zaleski, a forward, averaged 17.5 points and six rebounds per game last week as the Greyhounds dropped a pair of Commonwealth Conference game.  Zaleski had 13 points and seven rebounds in an 87-73 loss to nationally ranked Elizabethtown College and he added a game high 22 points and five rebounds in an 82-73 loss to Widener University.  The Greyhounds are 13-10 overall and 5-7 in the Commonwealth Conference and must win their final two regular season to earn a playoff spot.
