THREE GREYHOUNDS RANKED IN FINAL NCAA BASEBALL STATS

BETHLEHEM, PA --- The Moravian College baseball team had three members of its 2002 squad ranked in the final NCAA Division III statistics, released by the national office this week.

Junior third baseman/catcher Jeff Meila (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) was the 42nd toughest to strikeout in the nation this season, striking out just once every 20.8 at-bats.  Meila struck out just six times in 125 at-bats this past spring.

Sophomore outfielder/pitcher Greg Peters (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley HS) and junior first baseman Bob Frey (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley HS) were both listed among the country's leaders in bases on balls.  Peters was 34th with an average of 0.77 walks per game (27 walks in 35 games) while Frey was tied for 37th at 0.76 walks per contests (29 walks in 38 games).

The trio led Moravian to a 13-25 record this past spring and will lead a strong group of returners next season.
